懷德居積極建構木工尋夢園，努力推展「傳承 創新 活化木工」的目標，5 年來深獲產官學界肯定。無私的動機，可能實踐的理想，懷德居再度獲得有識之士熱烈支持，於是就在 2008 年底，台灣第一個「家具基金會」核准立案。
